It was a great pleasure to judge at this well organised show.  I thank the committee for my invitation, the last time I judged the breed was two years ago.  So virtually all of the dogs entered were new to me.  In observation, I noticed a variation of size and felt that the dogs and handlers were out of practice for the showring, having been in lockdown for such a long time.   However, I would like to thank the exhibitors for what I consider to be a quality entry.

 

Minor Puppy Dog  2 ent

1st Mrs S Holland Smiths Kirdanchi  Chisana Senshi  Black and White, just over 6 months old.   So still very raw.   Smaller type.  But with substance.  Head still needs to broaden on expression.  Had a good front, level topline, moved steadily, and showed well.  His coat was good for his age.

2nd Ms I Pearson's  Erestes Raffles Exclusive   Black and White, A nice lad, but not happy on the day.  He has a pleasing head and expression.  Just a little longer in the back than the winner.   Moved well but lost his topline whilst on the move.

 

Puppy Dog  3 ent

Ist.  Mrs C Partington-Palmers Sharlarna Starman Black and White 9 months of age.   Very promising.  He has a good head and pleasing expression, with a broad blaze.  He is well proportioned throughout.  Moves and covers the ground well.

Very well presented.

2nd Mrs L Ratter Anjuli Tank Commander at Seafar   11months old Black and White.  Larger than winner.   With a nice head.   He has a really good finish of coat.   Moves well.

3rd Mrs B Fleetwood  Abbeyleigh Botan Maru

 

Junior Dog  3 ent

Ist Mr S Rooney and Mrs A Greens Jaschin Armani  Black and White.   Small in statue and quite fine in bone.  Sweet head and expression.   Good coat.   Moved and showed well with confidence, as all do from this kennel.  Would just like more substance.

2nd Mrs S Steele Threadgold Thunderball  Black and White.  Considerably larger than winner,.   He carries a good head and expression.   Covered the ground well on the move.

3rd Mrs T Jackson   Amantra Eiji

 

Yearling Dog 3 ent

1st Mr and Mrs K Calvert   Somergemz It’s a Kind Of Magic Black and White.   This dog is a quality dog, who has a broad head with a very nice expression.  The best of coats.  He moves steady and was shown in beautiful condition.  To be hyper critical I would prefer him to be shorter in loin.

2nd  Mrs G M Swanston Pamojill Valentino  Black and White, I like this one very much.   His shape is of the best.  Head very sweet and broad with an open expression.  Today apprehensive on the move needs more experience but sound.

3rd  Miss S Harbron Seafar Secret Liason

1st Mr A Davidsons Stepheter Constant Contact at Sharlarna Black and White.  This lad took my eye when entering the ring.  He is a good type and size.  Carries a sweet head and expression.   He has a very good coat of correct texture.  Moved and showed well.  Was my pleasure to award him my RDCC

2nd Mr A Davidsons Sharlarna Trouble Maker Black and White This dog is of extreme quality, I like the balance of him, he has a lovely head, good coat and moves with drive and reach.  He will trouble the best when he gains his confidence  in the ring

3rd  Mrs J Macfarlane Jeskandai Koi No Yokan

 

Limit Dog  8 ent 1 ab

1st Mrs G M Swanston Pamojill Pop Star  Black and White.  This boy filled my eye with his sweet head and expression.  He is balanced throughout, with good tail set and a very good coat.  Moved extremely sound.

 2nd S Westwick and A Davidsons  Sharlarna Tyson  Black and White.   Another good one.   Very balanced in body shape, he has a nice head, carried on a good elegant neck, moved wqell both coming and going.   Would prefer just a little lighter of bone.

3rd  Mrs J Thomas Jalvacy The Great Mikado

 

Open Dog  6ent 2 abs

1st Ms A Forth  Tillashby Samurai Sun of Sharlarna  Black and White.  How can you deny this beautiful specimen of the breed.  He has everything on offer that you would want from a Japanese Chin.  Size, outline, coat, and the most adorable head and expression.  Presented to perfection.  The only thing that this dog lacks is enthusiasm but on the day he did enough for me to award him the DCC and eventual BOB.  I was very pleased to see the Group Judge shared my eye and shortlisted him in the Group.

2nd Miss L Lindsay Anjuli Trevor Another lovely boy.   Who has a very nice head, totally different in type to winner.   Heavier in bone, but a nicer quality exhibit moved soundly.

3rd Mrs G Swanstone  Rakuchin The Puzzler of Pamojill

 

Veteran Dog  1 ent

1st Ms T Pearce & Ms S Hann  Holmchin Secret Affair with Rakuchin Black and White 8 1/2 years. He is a credit to his owner.  A lovely head.  Loved his overall type and balance.  Moved soundly with a spring in his step.  Good coat of correct texture.  Was pleased to award him my best veteran.

 

Minor Puppy Bitch  1 ent

1st Mrs S Holland-Smith Black and White. Kirdanchi Madam Butterfly  Dainty feminine puppy.  Lovely shape and well constructed. Trained to perfection. Coat coming.  Moves soundly.  I believe she is the litter sister to the minor puppy dog.  Like peas out of the pod.

 

Puppy Bitch  2 ent

1st   Miss Bradley Rosslyn Emiko Black and White.  Very feminine.   Lovely head and expression.   Her body shape could be a little shorter in loin.   But she moves as free as a bird.  And is sound as a pound.  She has a good covering of coat for the age nine months of correct texture.   BPB and overall BP.

2nd  Mrs L Crane Anjuli Margo for Cranvarl  Black and White.  Another nice girl.  11 months.  Broad skull, sweet expression.   She has a good eye.   Not as good with her tail today moved well.

 

Junior Bitch  2 ent

1st  Mr S Rooney and Mrs A Green.  Jaschin Paws for Applause Black and White.   A very valuable girl for breeding.  A good dual purpose size.   She carries a lovely head.  And a very good outline shape and make.  Moves well coat coming in.

2nd Mr S Cayton  Sharlarna Temptress TAF Black and White.   A lovely bitch, with everything to offer the breed.  She oozes quality, not happy today, movement good, however, more homework needed.  She has a good coat and texture.  When she settles, she will trouble the best.  A close call.

 

Yearling Bitch  3 ent 1 abs

1st  Miss L Lindsay.  Anjuli Agatha at Choya Black and White.  A decent overall bitch.  Nice shape.  Good build.  Moved well.  I am not keen on the black mark on her cushion.  However, a worthy winner of this class.

2nd  Mrs G Swanston  Pamojill Mirusia  Black and White.  A Pretty girl, who was very difficult to access on the ground today.  Nice head, good proportions of body, would not move.

 

Post Grad Bitch    3 Ent

1st   Mrs S Holland-Smith Sleepyhollow Cover Girl for Kirdanchi  Black and White.  Again a very attractive bitch, with a lovely expression.  Compact with good proportions.  She was full of beans.  Due to being rushed into the ring at the last minute, steaded down nicely towards the end of the class and carries a good coat of correct texture.  Much happier and settled in the challenge.

2nd  Mr And Mrs Brown Cholas Tamiko at Rossvale  Black and White.   Heavier bitch than winner.  A good shape.  Very sound on movement.  And showed well.  Had concerns about her mouth.

3rd   Miss J Matches  I'm Melody Goscinska Prystan at Fochai 

 

Limit Bitch  4ent 1 ab

1st   Mrs T Quinn Harlouville Uptown Girl  Black and White.  What a lovely bitch.  Her size and proportions simple filled my eye.  She is well marked throughout.  With a broad skull and nice expression.  Moved and showed well.  I was pleased to award her the RBCC.

2nd    Mr S Rooney and Mrs A Green Jaschin First Edition  Black and White.  Daintier type.  Beautifully put together and really pretty.  Would like a little more substance.  Moved very well.

3rd    Miss J Matches Godheim Star Spangle Banner at Fochai

 

Open Bitch  2 ent

1st Mr A Davidson's Sharlarna Booty Call  Black and White.  What a lovely bitch.   With the best of heads, with a melting expression. Having a good outline in profile and  balanced in body.  Marked perfectly.  And moves soundly.  My choice for the BCC

2nd   Ms T Pearce and Ms S Hann  Rakuchin Well Hello   Black and White.  Daintier, very feminine in type.   A good head with nice expression.  She has a good  texture of coat, although not in her best coat.  She moved really well.

 

Veteran bitch 1 ent

1st Mrs L Crane   Ch Sidlyn Wind of Change for  Cranvarl JW SHCM.   Black and White.  8 1/2 yers old.  She is what I would term a very honest bitch.  A dual purpose size, with good head and expression.   She is well marked throughout.   And she moved very soundly.
